Police said the accused had prepared a forged affidavit and attempted to manipulate documents related to land allotment. After the arrest, the police are also investigating the roles of other people involved in the case. According to the police, the land numbered 5, Picket-C, located in the village Birawadi Chhakar Sanpur, was allotted by the Greater Noida Authority. The area of this land is reported to be about 1,640 square metres. A complaint alleging the allotment to be forged was filed on 11 June 2026 on the complainant’s petition at Surajpur police station.
In the case, the police had registered a charge under case number MU0अ0सं0-323/2026 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code against Selkaram, Bhadavi and other accused persons. The allegation is that the accused tried to register the land in his name using forged and fabricated affidavits and documents.
During the investigation, the police began searching for the accused Selkaram. On Friday, 21 August 2026, Surajpur police arrested him near Ghota Golchakkar. The arrested accused is identified as 58‑year‑old Selkaram, son of DeviSahay, resident of village Birawadi Chhakar Sanpur, Surajpur police station, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Police said the accused was a wanted person in this case. He had also been charged under Section 135 of the Electricity Act in 2017 at Surajpur police station.
Police are now investigating the entire process of forging documents, using them, and attempting to register the land in his name. They are also finding out who else was involved in this case. According to the police, further legal action will be taken based on the facts that emerge from the investigation.
