Accused arrested in Noida for vehicle theft and mobile snatching; scooter, mobile and knife recovered.

Noida. The Phase‑1 police of the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissionerate has achieved a major success by arresting a suspect involved in vehicle theft and mobile snatching incidents. The police recovered from the suspect a stolen scooter, two mobile phones taken in the snatching, Rs 1,200 obtained from selling the stolen mobile, and an illegal knife. In police interrogation, it emerged that the suspect had carried out vehicle thefts and mobile snatching in areas around Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida.
According to police, on 21 August 2026 the Thana Face‑1 police team arrested the accused near the track of a dirty drain in Sector‑14. The accused was identified as Aman Singh, son of Dilip Singh, resident of Kalyanpuri, Thana Kalyanpuri, Delhi, age 22 years.
He used stolen vehicles for mobile snatching.
During interrogation the accused told police that he used to steal two‑wheelers while roaming around areas of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida. He used the stolen vehicle and scooter to snatch mobile phones and to carry out thefts. After the incidents, to evade police he kept changing vehicles.
According to police, a red Honda Activa scooter bearing number DL7SBZ7241 was recovered; the accused had stolen it from New Ashok Nagar area of Delhi. Similarly, a Redmi mobile phone was recovered from him, which had been snatched on 20 August 2026 near Kondli Bridge in Delhi. Another mobile phone was snatched from the red‑light area of Face‑1, Delhi.
Money obtained from selling the mobiles was also seized.
Police investigation also revealed that the accused had stolen a Samsung Galaxy S‑24 mobile phone from Sector‑2, Noida area. Later the accused sold this mobile to a passerby near Ghazi Pur Mandi for about Rs 4,000. Police also seized Rs 1,200 that remained with the accused after the sale.
According to police, a case has already been filed against the accused at Thana Face‑1, Noida. In addition, information has emerged that a case related to vehicle theft and stolen goods has also been registered at New Ashok Nagar police station in Delhi.
An illegal knife was also recovered.
During the arrest, an illegal knife was also recovered from the accused’s possession. In connection with the arrest and seizure, a case has been filed at Thana Face‑1, Noida under MU0A0S0 455/2026, Sections 317(2)/317(5) BNS and 4/25 Arms Act. Meanwhile, a case MU0A0S0 450/2026 has already been registered concerning the mobile‑snatching incident.
Police are now gathering information from the accused, based on interrogation, about other crimes he may have committed and about the people who bought the stolen goods. Police say that the accused’s criminal network and other possible incidents are also under investigation.
This police action represents a significant success in curbing vehicle theft and mobile‑snatching incidents in Noida‑NCR.
