During the weekly meeting, intense back‑and‑forth unfolded as councilors confronted each other over public interest issues | Questions also arose regarding the officials' working style.

Delhi's North East Corporation Zone weekly meeting turned chaotic on Friday when ruling and opposition corporators faced each other.

During the meeting, corporators loudly raised public‑interest issues pertaining to their respective wards. Questions and answers began regarding problem resolution and officials’ working methods, after which the atmosphere became even more tense.

Anger over officials’ conduct

The meeting also revealed considerable resentment among corporators towards the conduct of corporation officials. Corporators said that when public representatives raise questions in the assembly about citizens’ problems, officials should respond seriously and provide clear information about actions.

Many corporators expressed frustration with officials’ working style, saying that merely raising issues in meetings will not solve the problem; action must also be seen at the grassroots level.

Demand for accountability amid the chaos

Despite sharp exchanges between the ruling and opposition sides, several issues related to public problems were prominently raised in the meeting. Corporators demanded that officials set accountability and take prompt action on pending complaints.

This meeting of the North East Corporation Zone indicated that, alongside political tug‑of‑war, officials’ work methods are now also in the sights of corporators. The question remains: how quickly are public problems addressed after the debates and chaos in meetings?
