Religion is supreme. Religion is the means to happiness. Religion is auspiciousness, religion is the best, religion is refuge. Religion is the foundation of happiness and peace. Religion is the means of righteous progress. How can one increase virtue?

Virtue is a great power. Virtue as wealth is immense strength. Virtue is a boon. Virtue is the cow that bears wealth. Virtue is as beneficial as the wish‑fulfilling tree.

To increase one’s virtue, a person must worship God, serve true gurus, study noble literature, show compassion and mercy toward all living beings, live a life based on truth and non‑violence, and provide food and medicine to ascetics.

Increase competence, achieve success.

An individual should enhance his qualifications; those who are competent naturally attain suitable positions at the right time. Where competence exists, success follows swiftly. Only competent individuals should be given appropriate positions. Unqualified persons should not be given high posts; if they do attain a high position, they will be diminished. To achieve success, acquire competence. Competence alone bestows distinction.
