New Delhi, 1 September 2026 – Facility for lawyers commuting between the 30,000 Court and Delhi High Court.
New Delhi, September 1, 2026. Considering the convenience of advocates travelling between the Tis Hazari Court and the Delhi High Court, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has launched a special bus service. The bus operates on route number 502A. The inauguration of this new service is expected to provide substantial commuting convenience to hundreds of lawyers of the Tis Hazari Bar. Senior member executive Amit Raghav of the Tis Hazari Bar Association played a pivotal role in initiating the service. According to the press release, Amit Raghav held multiple meetings with DTC officials to secure a dedicated bus service for lawyers, and after persistent efforts the service was approved on August 28, 2026.
Subsequently, on September 1, 2026, District and Sessions Judge V.K. Dahia inaugurated the bus service by cutting a ribbon, breaking a coconut, and displaying a green flag. Present at the ceremony were several DTC officials, including DTC Rajghat Depot Second’s depot manager Mr. Gaurav. After the inauguration, Judge V.K. Dahia rode the DTC bus together with bar association office‑bearers and advocates, purchasing his own ticket to experience the service firsthand. Hundreds of advocates from the Tis Hazari Court attended the event. Sweets were distributed in celebration, and the lawyers congratulated one another. It was announced that female advocates will enjoy free travel using the Ladies Pink Card, while male advocates can travel from Tis Hazari Court to the Delhi High Court for a fare of ₹20.
The new bus service is expected not only to save advocates’ time and travel expenses but also to help alleviate Delhi’s growing traffic and parking problems. Currently, many advocates commuting to the High Court use private vehicles, exacerbating parking challenges. This public‑transport option could reduce dependence on private cars.
Appreciation for Amit Raghav’s efforts
Amit Raghav has been elected consecutively for the second time to the Tis Hazari Bar Association. According to the press release, he has continuously worked on various issues and facilities concerning advocates. His supporters note that his initiatives have previously resulted in numerous benefits for a large number of lawyers. The dedicated DTC bus service on route 502A, running between Tis Hazari and the High Court, is also regarded as a significant facility for advocates. Lawyers present at the event welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to Amit Raghav and the DTC officials.
